A Hopeful Playlist for Dreary Days

I don't know how the weather is where you are, but in my neck of the woods, we are having a whole lotta wintry mix and gray skies.  In fact, today school was cancelled due to crazy winds and sleet that has been coming and going all morning.  Hooray.

Many of my clients struggle with seasonal affective disorder this time of year.  Their depression gets worse, their motivation decreases, and they just can't seem to shake that "blah" feeling.  For just about everyone, it's easier to be cheerful on a warm, sunny day, but not everyone can afford to just up and move to Miami (but if you have friends or family there, now would be a good time to send me their phone number visit).  So whether you're feeling gross because of what's going on outside your window, what's going on inside your head, or what's going on in the world, I'd like to present you with a playlist today to help shake those blues away.

I've shared some other playlists in the past, and I plan to do it every so often, because music can be an amazing mood changer.  While everyone has their own unique taste where music is concerned, I hope you can find at least a few songs here to make you feel a little more hopeful on a dreary day.

1. All Will Be Well - The Gabe Dixon Band
2. Woodland - The Paper Kites
3. Brand New Day - Joshua Radin
4. Shake It Off - Taylor Swift
5. O-O-H Child - The Five Stairsteps
6. Change - Taylor Swift
7. Burn - Ellie Goulding
8. Not Your Year - The Weepies
9. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
10. Hold On - Wilson Phillips
11. Let It Go - Joshua Radin
12. Who Says - Selena Gomez & The Scene
13. Mama Said - The Shirelles
14. Fight Song - Rachel Platten
15. You Will Find Me - Andrew Ripp
16. Glory and Gore - Lorde

And for those of you who enjoy literature as well as music, I'll just leave this right here...

Wishing you warmth and hope today, friends!
